This department welcomes all patients that attend the centre for the first time. The patients are examined for their ocular health through screening and follow-up visits.

A complete ophthalmic examination is performed including visual acuity and refraction, binocular function, intraocular pressure, anterior and posterior segment and visual pathway.

This study gives an idea about the health condition and function of the eye if complementary tests are needed to complete the study. If a disease is diagnosed, a proper treatment is started and if a complex disease is detected, the case is referred to the corresponding specialised ICR department.

Another important role of this department is to screen for ophthalmologic diseases and perform early diagnosis, as well as to disclose ocular manifestation of systematic diseases or side effects of the visual system.

The early diagnosis and treatment permit to successfully control most ocular conditions.
